Any player aged 7-22 living in Brantford is invited to try-out for our teams. Players living in nearby areas of Brantford may require a “release” from other centers to participate in our rep program.

Brantford plays in the ICBA league which usually consists of teams from Cambridge, Kitchener, Guelph, Waterloo, Woodstock & Stratford. On occasion other nearby cities will enter teams in the league.

Season play begins in early May and finishes on Labour Day weekend. Depending on age group, season consists of 18-24 games split between home and away games. Teams play in 3-5 tournaments over the season.

On average there will be 2 games per week along with 1 practice. However, this varies depending on head coach preferences and schedules. Players are expected to attend most games and practices. If players are absent from many games or practices, they are letting the team down, they are not developing as baseball players and they are filling a spot on the team that could have been given to another player. So, we ask that only players and families that can make the commitment join these teams. Coaches will set their own guidelines for attendance based on team philosophy and individual player circumstances.

Yes of course. Vacations and family time are encouraged. Its recommended to notify the coach as soon as possible of your time off. This way, alternative players can be found if needed. Individual coaches my have black out dates in which full team commitments are required.

Cost varies depending on age category. Fees tend to range from $925 - $1100. Price includes games, practice times and tournaments. Uniforms and equipment are extra charges and purchased separately.

Generally, rosters range from 12 to 16 players between 7U and 18U.

Yes. BMBA has an indoor practice facility at Access Storage and Sports complex. Rep teams practice once per week over the winter. Older aged groups may practice twice per week. Start date is determined by coach and happens once a break from the summer season is finished.

No! We encourage participation in other sports as it provides cross-training benefits and mitigate mental and physical burn-out. Through the winter, we ask that players attend as many of the baseball practices as they can. If players have a regular conflict with winter sports, they can work with the coach to determine a mutual beneficial resolution.

During the 2019 AGM, BMBA Executive and its membership passed an Operating Procedure requiring kids to play at their own age level.
Exception: Players deemed “Exceptional status”, meaning their skill level is determined to be in the top 20% talent across the entire league in which they wish to play in. Player’s ability will be evaluated by 3 outside independent evaluators.
Underaged players are permitted to play on the 8U team for one season. However, the following year they must return to their current aged team at 8U.

Tryouts occur in September for next season. Teams are selected mid to late September. Online registration needs to be completed prior to attending the first tryout.

Yes. Attending tryouts is a great learning experience for players. Players are required to attend T1 (top team) tryouts.

In most cases, there will be a T2 team in each age category. Players not making the T1 team are encouraged to try out for the T2 team held in late September. If a player does not make the T2 team they can participate in our house league program.
